What first got you interested in modeling?

 

"Well to be honest, I wasn't interested in modeling. I started off wanting to go into photography. I got a job working for shooting agency in Cincinnati where they agreed to let me work on a probation period with them. I started off with just cleaning and arranging equipment and eventually they allowed me to take small minor shots for them. One night I was working over time and goofing off with a friend in the runway room. I started doing the catwalk while my friend "took pictures" with his phone. Neither of us knew that Dantes [the manager at the time] was in the back of the room behind the audio booth! That launched my "career" in modeling."

 

 

What does Fashion mean to you?

 

Fashion is relative! It is personal, therefore there should be no "standard" of what is fashion and what is not. Some like to wear skirts, some like to wear jeans. *Laughs* Actually, just let me quote lyrics that describes my idea of fashion perfectly! "Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby dooby"

 

 

How did it feel to be one of the few models representing Israeli style at Fashion Week 2013- Italy?

 

Well at first I felt like I was a little over looked. I can't really say that I truely blame them. Israeli fashion is rarely in the spotlight if at all. I suppose when you hide away naturally people assume nothing "worthwhile" comes from Israel. However, I think that we got their attention after a while.

 

 



Tell me a little about yourself. Where are you from? What's your educational background? What are your general professional and non-professional interests?

Well, I was born in Tel Aviv, but lived most of my life in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a great city! I attended Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati for 3 years. I'm studying Early Childhood Education [I could never teach teenagers! *Laughs*] My life is made up of music, photography, fashion and travel. Oh, and I have a strong interest in Oreos!

 

How would you define your city's fashion?

I live in Holon as of right now and I would define it's style as... classic. Classic meaning t-shirts and jeans! *Laughs*

 

How do you prepare for a fashion shoot or show?

 

Typically I get up early in the morning [as I always do to run] and try to get to the destination on time. Once I'm there, they take me to the dressing room and leave me there with a bag of Oreos and a TV for about an hour while they set up the cameras. Then my makeup artist and stylist come in and "fix me up." This normally takes about two hours. Once they've dolled me up I go on set and do whatever is shouted at me. Nothing truely special about the prep time.

*Do you prefer Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings? Lord of the Rings! Omg, Legolas [Orlando Bloom!] I was sorely upset to find The Hobbit is in two parts. Now I wait in anticipation for part two.

*What does fashion mean to you?

 

Fashion for me is a kind of art that sometimes we don't realize that we've been doing it. Fashion for me is a primary need. I can't go out without fashion. That is why, fashion keeps me alive.

*Who are some of your favorite designers?

 

Stella mc cartney always amused me with her simply cool designs. It is cutted perfectly and looks awesome when it has been worn. It isn't to much, calm, but still edgy. That is suits me well. Not too old but not looking weird. Just in the right proportion for me.

*What are some of your favorite clothing stores/catalogs/websites?

 

Hmmm none of that category hahaha. My mom is studying about dressmaking in a fashion school. So i got lots of cute dress, top and skirt from. So happy cause i got all of that for free. Yay! But when i have to pick my three favorites fashion webstore, it goes to asos, forever21, and cotton on.

*Do you consider yourself an artist?

 

Once i got a scholarship to join a fashion design program when i was 12. And i still continue to study about that. in my free time, I usually draw and paint. my genre is surrealism. And yes, i play piano too! But, for now i spent my time mostly for school. I like math cause i think they are art too. An art of numbers. LOL! I love art, and i have a different point of view with others about art.

*What are your favorite colors to work with and why?

 

Blue!! Electric blue, sky blue, navy blue. I like blue a lot. I can play any of colour with blue. Blue can be fierce, and even sweet. I love blue so much! Even my favorite phone case is the blue one. My favorite shoes is the blue one. I just can't get enough blue things. Blue is the new white for me.

*What are your likes and dislikes?

 

Likes: colorful, pattern, floral, sheer, simplicity, maxi skirt. Actually, i try every style, sometimes i wear vintage, and in the another day i wear edgy.

Dislikes: animal print. Yeah animal print. It looks silly for me. But i adore people who can wear it without looking too much.



I Did It Again.

That is right, I places FIRST in Fashion Sense Week. If anyone is offering round of applause, I'll bow for you. OK, on a more real note, I am really stoked! I got great responses to my clothes and even have a few offers.  Boo-ya!!!!!! OK, I didn't have much time to take pictures of all the clothes and people there, but thankfully Daniel got at least a few.

Lookbook Inspirations

So after much pressure from family and friends, I finally got a Lookbook.nu account. I enjoy fashion and giving advice, as many of you know, but I am not big on taking photos of my own. Call it insecurities if you want. So I posted two looks [in which you guys voted on my netlog account] and so far... hypes have been slowly but steadily streaming in. cool, right? You guys are smart.

Anyways, as I was scanning through, I saw some amazing looks. Some traditional, some... not. I asked to use a few to show you guys. I'll give you just a few for this post, but I'll explain why I like it. I know you all value my opinion, Ha ha ;-) On one final note, I would like to THANK YOU ALL so much for the feedback. David is relatively new to Lookbook from what I can surmise. However, his fashion is slightly off tradition. He keeps his clothes in sync and can make his pictures creative! Handstands? I'd break my neck...! He may not have been on Lookbook for very long, but he is a well known model for Outlook Makeover Site Models. I had the chance to meet him at the Outlook Makeover back in 2007. Its safe to say he is cool.

Dianna Hughes

I came across her with my random searches. What drew me to her style was... really how it didn't just stick with mainstream "fashion." I chose the two pictures above because it shows her own taste. The first one is really "neat" and organized, yet still different from the molds of fashion. The second is truly my favorite. I love the loose jeans with holes. It gives grunge to it, exactly her style. Check out more!

Addi Reni

Her fashion is not at all out of the normal. So why do I love her? Because she makes her own clothes! Yeah, it looks store bought, but no, she makes them! I've seen from her Facebook her projects. I think it is so cool she can do that. Give me a needle and thread and I'd end up stabbing myself somehow. Go ahead, see if you can tell her things are home made!

I got the Blues

Chiao!

I was messing around before class earlier with Bella and decided we would do a very quick photoshoot of my new "blue" attitude. Meaning I was at a store and decided to buy alot of blue clothes. And also, "quick" photoshoot meant like two outfits, but oh well. I figured two is better than one, or zero.

The First one is from Old Navy. Blue striped Old Navy shirt with a light blue sweater from Macy's.

I look awesome, I know it. But I got this top set for less than $40! I was so totally stoked! I was a happy chap.

The second picture was from American Eagle Outfitters. The bow tie was a nice touch, but not from AE. Actually, the bow came from Kenneth Cole. I hope you all like. It was under $50!

So this was my ultra short photoshoot. I think I didn't do so bad. What do you think? :)

Blazers n' Jeans? Go? No?

I was viewing some of the "classic" stlyes of just the jacket and jeans. When I was younger my mother used to always say

"That looks so tacky!"

whenever I wore a suit jacket or somehwat "classy" jacket with a pair of jeans. It was strict fashion in my house. "Dress clothes" went with dress clothes and "dumpy" went with dumpy. I can't stand it! Anyways, there are many ways to pull off the grunge/classy look. Or at least, that is what I call it. Here is a few "idea" that I found that you all might be interested in.
